Course Structure

All courses are delivered as a college-based experience, with both in-house and customisable  programs for organisations. Self-paced training with one-on-one coaching facilitate effective and flexible learning, geared appropriately towards a student’s ability

Participants enrolled in training leading to either a statement of attainment or certificate are required to complete training assessments to demonstrate competency. Competency based assessment is the process of gathering evidence to confirm that participants can perform required skills and knowledge, with appropriate feedback delivered to participants on each assessment activity. Competency based training does not use a marking scale, rather the participant is deemed to be competent or not competent. Types of assessment can include:

  • Written / Oral Assessments
  • Practical Demonstrations
  • Completion of Case Studies / Similar Activities
  • Portfolio Development
  • Work Samples
  • Third Party Reports

The duration of the course depends greatly on you, the time you have to dedicate to the learning activities and assessments, and the timeframe in which you want to complete. All courses do have a maximum timeframe in which they need to be completed, and most certificate courses have a practical element which requires you to undertake work experience – so this must be considered when structuring your course commitment. On successful completion of all requirements for the training, you will receive a nationally recognised qualification

Nationally recognised qualifications are developed to meet the requirements of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), and can be awarded only to registered training organisations throughout Australia; including, Icon Training Academy.
